Screw Piling

Foundations that go in fast and stay put.

Screw Piling

Screw piling is what we are known for. In and around Yorkton we have put piles under modular and RTM homes, detached garages, shops, decks, sunrooms, grain bin pads and more fence and sign posts than anyone has counted.

How it works

A helical pile is a steel shaft with one or more load-bearing plates welded near the tip. We drive it with a hydraulic torque head until the resistance readings tell us it has reached ground that will carry the design load. There is no digging, no concrete and no cure time — a crew can start framing on the same piles the same afternoon.

Why it suits Saskatchewan

Our frost depth is the reason so many slab-on-grade decks and garages end up racked and out of level after a few winters. Piles are set well below the frost line, which takes seasonal heave out of the equation. On the clay we work in, that matters more than almost anything else about a foundation.

What you get from us

We give you a firm price, not a range, once we know the site and the loads. Every pile is driven and logged, and we leave the site the way we found it — no spoil pile, no rutted lawn to repair.

Key points

  • Load-ready the same day it is installed
  • Every pile driven to measured torque, not guessed depth
  • Set below frost line — no seasonal heaving
  • No excavation, no spoil pile, minimal site damage
  • Works on tight lots where a digger cannot get in
